YTB is a good company, trying to be good, using a difficult business medium – network marketing. They’ve had to change their model a few times to make sure that they’re complying with the laws and ethics in all the states. That has been challenging, but I think the model that has resulted is good.
Visit http://www.clippershiptravel.com to see what YTB has to offer in terms of a product. What better on-line business than one that occurs on-line – travel. Not only are people already using a similar on-line service, but YTB’s product is powered by the same engine that powers Travelocity – lending more authority and credence.
While it takes a few months for all your contacts, social media friends and family to remember your site every time – the prices are good enough that people will stick with it once it is in their head.
YTB takes a little work to get really moving, but once you’ve created a good on-line base, the ball does begin moving downhill. The advantage YTB offers is the product itself – everyone already books their travel online. The disadvantage is you can’t compete with Expedia and Orbitz by sending one e-mail to your family and friends.

I forgot to mention a couple things that could really help you make a decision about YTB. There are four distinct niches you can exploit with a YTB business. Golf, Cruises, Flowers, and Outdoor Adventures. For each of those niches, YTB gives you a separate website to send customers to.
YTB also offers a non-profit program that allows non-profits a chance to reap all the rewards of travel commissions without the network marketing aspect. It requires you take a class and pay a few dollars, but each non-profit sell pays a hefty commission plus 10% of their future travel royalties.
I’ve written a little about the non-profit side at http://lettersfromdan.com – if you’re interested in learning more about that. (Sorry for the 2nd post).
